It does. It is shameful to represent figures that are centerpieces to a people’s history and identity as people who share zero resemblance to Greek culture. It may sound controversial, but it would be no different than if they made a movie about Mansa Musa and casted a bunch of White and Asian people or a movie about the story of Buddha and casted a bunch of Hispanic people. I think that cultural movies, such as The Odyssey, should be played by people who fit the culture being depicted.
