Yeah. Like can we please normalize coming up with a counter than just downvoting? I fear it doesn’t help us with critical thinking and properly communicating

It’s human nature to go with the herd and blindly agree/disagree to fit the status quo. It’s something that everyone has to fight because at the end of the day, your core values shouldn’t shift in order for you to fit in.

I fear many people don’t know what exactly their values are when they don’t take the time to research. Especially in politics. But just like you said, your core values shouldn’t have to shift in order to fit in — whether you know those values or not; you should, in general, be aware of what you’re agreeing/disagreeing with and know when to question what you follow.
