Yep. Even Hitler did this- he protected his family physician (who was Jewish) from Kristallnacht and other pogroms, and let him immigrate to NYC instead of a camp. These bigots almost always have a soft spot and are able to see the humanity of the group they slaughter, and they are made even more guilty by it.
