First off, fuck Reagan and Thatcher. Secondly, from a historical perspective the relative stagnation of the Netherlands during the 19th century is interesting.

Well we don’t get to see anything between the data points, I feel like the fact that a straight line is used instead of a dot makes us think it’s linear but who knows

Nah you could be right especially if the data in between is sparse, if there was more data available and they cherry picked, somebody on the research team must really love the Netherlands but that would be so unfaithful to accuracy I kind of doubt that’s the case, but who knows.
