This is actually an epidemic that’s been spiking recently. Ungrateful adult children (especially radicals) will cut out their parents from their life, and I think this might be because it’s trending on social media? Idk

ungrateful? i should be grateful that my stepfather verbally abused all of us and consistently held his financial support over our heads like we didn’t inherently deserve to be housed or fed as children?

You cannot know unless you are them, there could be 1000 different reasons 500 justified and 500 not, it’s different for everyone

I cut off my dad when I was 16 because he was an asshole, mean drunk, obsessed with shit-talking my mom despite it having been 15 years since their divorce, etc. I’ve seen him twice since, once for my half sister on his side’s HS graduation, and once for my grandmother on his side’s funeral. I don’t think our relationship will ever be repaired, despite him being pleasant to interact with at both of those occasions. He made his bed. I gave him years of grace, and he squandered it.

there’s no gratefulness, you choose to have a child and you try your hardest to give them the best life they can have. doing it for anything in return is selfish and you shouldn’t of had children.
