Lit campuses are for our safety and well worth the cost, but it just goes to show that calling it light pollution is not an exaggeration, and it does observable harm to local wildlife. Research into low-pollution light infrastructure would be a great idea, perhaps different tones of light have less pollutive effects on the environment.
