I feel like European racism is worse than American racism Is it crazy to say that

It was more systemic in america and had profound effects on the development of our cities, our housing patterns, generational wealth, etc. but purely in terms of personal attitudes yeah I guess European racism can be pretty virulent

nah you're spot on. i lived in Western Europe for years. naked racism is just kind of normal/accepted in a way that it isn't in most of the US, and there's an even worse "deal with it" attitude towards slurs and outright racial profiling. the funniest thing i walked away from Europe with was how ignorant they are of how badly their countries fucked up the rest of the world.

I heard it best phrased as the US being much more open and blatant with their dialogue and Europe is more in their “we don’t see color” phase, but you’re more likely to be denied entry for being black in a European city than an American one
