Exhibit A there’s a data center like 40 mins away from me in wood dale that residents say have upped their utility bills and cause extreme light pollution. There’s no laws on this type of thing and that’s gotta change

Ahhh yeah the grid stuff makes sense, I just don’t get the “draining resources” because really not much is actually getting lost. Where’s the extreme light pollution coming from though? There really shouldn’t be many windows, maybe lights for a parking lot though

I agree, the customs enforcement part should stay. But the immigration part absolutely need to clean house after this admin

there needs to be immigration enforcement or else we will be inviting levels of immigration which are unsustainable in terms of maintaining affordability in the housing market and various other markets. look at canada before in the late trudeau premiership or the UK post covid

Yeah, the problem is that MPU’s info is based on a book that was just criticized for some seriously erroneous claims and misleading wording

I never heard 1000x the amount of water as a city of 88k people but it was more than the initial estimate I think

I believe she was specifically discussing a city in South America (I think Chile?) and people have gone around using those numbers when there was a math error and mistranslation

Ice was created in 2003. We do not need it. We would not be in the situation we are in now if liberals like you hadn’t argued this exact thing when the Dems had power, stopping them from abolishing it. ICE = racial fascism. There’s no way around it.

So who is supposed to handle deporting criminals who actually committed violent crimes and are found guilty in a court of law?

Federal Marshalls namely, that is like their whole job, as well as CBP and DHS. We have 6 different agencies whose guidelines allow for them to complete these responsibilities. We don’t need an extra one with endless impunity and zero oversight. Next question?

Federal Marshals are under the DOJ. I guess I could see them handling it. CBP doesn’t do enforcement. DHS is the umbrella agency over CBP and ICE, so shifting deportations to “DHS” doesn’t change anything imo. That’s just ICE with a different name
