You think climate change is gonna be some big boom where a billion people die at once and that’s why you keep saying these prophecies are false. Climate change is a slow and mundane killer that’s going to hit different places at different times in different ways and you idiots are gonna keep saying it’s fake because nothing happens all at once even tho it’s happening right now all the time

like we’ve already passed 1.0C avg warmer, and we’re estimated to potentially pass 1.5C by mid 2030s if I remember correctly. we might even reach 3.0C by 2100. just 1.0C (which we’ve passed) causes an increase in risk for destabilized weather patterns (heatwaves, flash floods, wildfires, etc), and we’re already documenting the reduction in mass of the ice caps, coral reef worldwide is experiencing devastating bleaching events; like genuinely what the fuck are you talking about?

(this is before even considering how much worse biodiversity collapse will become; we’re actively destroying this planets biosphere (at least in how it relates to the habitability for species like our own, the planet will ultimately survive in the long run, but our species (and the majority of others on the planet) will not if we continue as we are)
