If you really want to live near tropical waters, there’s better places to move to, and you’re better off having an existing job plan. Jamaica is famously not a great place to actually live in, especially if you don’t have an existing job plan. Lots of places would be better. Florida keys, the U.S. Virgin Islands (though they have a gentrification problem with mainlanders moving in), Hawaii (similar problem), Panama, Costa Rica, French Polynesia, Australia.
