 Can we talk about how cult-y it is to make m kids memorize the pledge of allegiance and repeat it each day in school? It’s designed to give the symbol of the flag power over us, something worth pledging to. It’s just this side of prayer. Kinda weird

Like if someone told you North Korea made each child say that they that would always support the DPRK before school you’d think “wow that’s insane,” but it’s normalized here.
