In case you saw an uptick in posts saying shit like “save Europe!” or “Abolish the EU,” let me save you some time and tell you why exactly it is happening.

They sacrificed billions of dollars and hundreds of their lives for our bullshit wars in the Middle East after 9/11

Literally fulfilled their obligations under article 5 of nato, the only time in history it was ever invoked. But now we have Trump in charge who’s made it so our work means nothing and our promises are worthless

"Bullshit wars" as if the whole idea of us acting as the world police isn't bullshit in general

Which “wars” did the EU start?

They’re literally being invaded rn bro and we spent 20 years in Afghanistan and Iraq and demanded they all send their boys and their money. So yes we are going to help them

Otherwise we will just find a way to profit off of it and turn on the forever war machine

Shouldn’t you be worried that the US is itching to launch another intervention in Venezuela?

Not how it works. We don’t just spend 20 years demanding Europe help us fight dudes in caves and then run away when Russia invades them. Unless you want China to be right about us

China also explicitly said it’s pouring a lot of aid into Russia to counteract the US and put pressure on Taiwan

Unless I'm missing something the military aid that Europe sent to Afghanistan and Iraq was volunteers (like we already send to Ukraine regardless of the billions in weapons), not billions in weapons and money.

I have no problem with US Military or US intelligence based volunteer missions to Ukraine

They sent entire combat battalions which includes billions in equipment and logistics

Billions in equipment and logistics that would've likely been spent on dry training in country if not for the availability of a real war to train in

Which imo is better spent

So then what’s the issue with us sending missile trucks and tanks from the 90s to Ukraine

We could have used it on dry training which would be a better spending choice

China isn't throwing billions at a war of attrition right now, they're building up huge drone swarms.

Dude you realize that we (the USA) are the ones who made this system and chose to put all of our time and money and effort into a ridiculous amount of weaponry and military?

All of it was our choice to our own advantage, many of the wars and countries we stuck ourselves in was also completely our choice and for our benefit
