Tbh for most of the history of Christianity that’s been one of the more consistent beliefs. The Christian abolitionist movement of the last 250 years is kind of a blip.

It’s one of the things that highlights how you can argue for diametrically opposed ideas using the same holy book. John brown would point to everyone being equal as we are all children of God. An antebellum southern Baptist would point to “slaves obey your masters” and the Curse of Ham
