Centrists will tell you that politics is about compromise but when you ask them to compromise with the Left they’ll say no. They’d rather compromise with racists and fascists on the Right.

Part of this problem is that there is no actual left represented in mainstream politics. Democrats basically are a centrist party and even barely so

I’m pretty center and I have no problem compromising with either side. I just won’t go too far left or right

They are far from being centrists

Interestingly, I make a few distinctions here: Firstly, I differentiate between what I call the “Old Left” (I.e. the politics of the 19th and 20th centuries that theorists in Europe and Latin/South America were writing about) and the “New Left” (I.e. what we have in the United States today). The New Left, frankly, sucks and isn’t likely to win. The Old Left, however, could theoretically win again but that would actually require people to have intelligence and a backbone which they do not.

I just find that funny cause like, in my experience at least, far left is arguing for shit like free healthcare and basic human rights, while the far right is just like let’s kill everyone who isn’t white and fuck the working class. Again, maybe just my experience, but idk

No, that’s accurate. One extreme is way less dangerous than the other lol

And I honestly used to try very hard to remain centrist/unaffiliated, not even all that long ago really. It just became a matter of morals, what I believed was right and wrong. I’d say much of what the right, especially the far right but the right in general, believes is what I would consider to be objectively morally wrong

lmao then you're being dense. pro-capitalism already inches them towards the center
