i'm curious why you think 70%+ of white people secretly want slaves, i don't have a study backed number of course but id assume its more like 1-5% (don't get me wrong thats A LOT of people but 70% just seems ridiculous to me)

if 70% of people wanted jim crow type laws they probably would still exist, that's a voting majority. if it was over 15% id be gobsmacked. MAYBE 1/10 people i meet are racist at max but that's still only 10%.

ive had my fair share of hate for republicans trust me, but simplifying their issue to just that of stupidity and evilness is the biggest mistake we can make here. its putting an easy label on something you dont understand. but if you look close enough you can see its just not that simple. im not saying they cant be dumb/evil, but its just more complicated than that
