I mean considering they only wanna double the taxes on 1% of the population, I don’t really see how that affects most of these folks. But I guess there are a lot of “temporarily embarrassed millionaire” types who think they’ll one day be rich enough to be the ones we wanna tax.

inb4 “New York is too blue to be representative of popular sentiment”The mayor, who had to run in a 3-person race against both a Republican AND more moderate Democrat, who had much more political capital, much more name recognition, etc.

Yall been doing this for like 15 years and u got what Bernie and Mamdani. Who are in the most liberal places in America. Mamdani the only one who actually got their foot in the door as a socialist.

There’s a DSA member in the US House of Reps who is a representative in Texas. Now sure, he’s in Austin, but that’s still a card-carrying socialist in a US House seat in Texas.
