Nothing is ever literally free, no matter what you do your actions have consequences. The young republicans aren’t going to be imprisoned, but organizations most likely don’t want to be aligned with people that call black people “watermelon people”

Freedom of speech means you can express whatever views you want and not get charged for it, and nor should you. But usually, other kinds of consequences are still on the table. And even though someone shouldnt go to jail for saying some wildly racist shit they should definitely be risking their jobs and relationships by doing it.
