My logic around that has always been that if you wanna call dysphoria a mental disorder, sure. It’s not accurate, but it does drive people to suicide nearly half the time, so it’s not like it’s not a problem to solve. The treatment is transitioning tho lol

not only that, gender dysphoria is NOT just another phrase for a transgender identity. cisgender people have gender dysphoria too. it’s a fundamental misunderstanding of the concept and people just don’t do the research on what it is beforehand.

Exactly!! The classification as a mental disorder is essentially only to bring access to transitioning (hormones, etc.) to those in more conservative communities who would struggle to get it otherwise

Exactly!!!! Just another example of conservatives attempting to use terms they don’t understand to try and make themselves sound more educated 🙄
