How can anyone pretend that the Dems are even remotely close to an effective opposition? They are literally bankrolled by the same exact billionaires and lobbyists as the republicans, they just think gay marriage is okay or something.

Can’t be effective if you have literally zero power. And are you saying the right to marry whoever you want isn’t a big deal? Because conservatives legit want to overturn that

I’m talking about the fact that no matter what “social” progress is made the Dems still serve the interests of an elite class the same exact way republicans do, that is making sure the rich can do whatever they want while making life harder for anyone with a net worth that doesn’t match the top 1%

Dems are literally the reason 28M people have healthcare

You mean the same law that essentially criminalized not having health insurance and increased the overall costs of healthcare in the US because of lobbyists demanding concessions?

How did it criminalize that? And what’s the source for the increase in cost of healthcare?

The entire purpose of the ACA was to funnel money into the hands of health insurance companies

The individual mandate has had a zero dollar penalty for 7 years now

As you pointed out that wasn’t the case until 2019 also states have the option of implanting their own penalties, as several have done

States can do whatever they want. MA has had a penalty since before the ACA was even passed. The individual mandate is a moot point.

At the federal level

I guess if we ignore the origins of the ACA and the mass advocacy campaigns run by democrats it is a moot point
