For example, Thomas Massie was a part of the Tea Party movement, a movement that is inarguably conservative, at least socially. I don't even think Massie's opposition to the MAGA movement needs to be explained, but he has opposed them on Trans gun rights, Israel, Epstein, and a number of other issues

I don’t recall Massie being a big tea party member. The tea party was basically the precursor to MAGA imo

Yeah I fully agree, but you can be a moron and still be “well-meaning.” I honestly think he believes he’s acting in the American public’s best interests, even if he’s wrong (which is more than I can say for basically all of MAGA). Besides, if having bad takes is your standard then the entire rest of congress is arguably guilty as well with all the israel shit

If you want a better example, I’d say Larry Hogan. I live in Maryland and you’d be surprised by how well liked he was here despite being a Republican in a pretty staunch blue state
