I will never understand why some people feel the need to make up ridiculous exaggerations about slavery. The reality of it was already horrible enough there is no need for exaggerations

That it was a common practice for slaver masters to eat their slaves (and that white people were "openly" eating black people until the 1970s)

When I was in high school one of my classmates told me the first president of the United States was actually black because John Hanson, first president of the continental congress, has the same name as John Hanson, Liberian politician from decades later. Many people just don’t apply critical thinking if something supports their worldview

These are the same people who think that black people are "indigenous" to America, thankfully most people don't take them seriously

I find that movement very fascinating in general and have done a lot of research on it but it feels weird if I talk about it too much because I am extremely white and some white people use it as an excuse to be racist

Don't let fear of being called racist stop you for calling out idiotic and false beliefs

I mean I think there would legitimately be a problem if I was hyper-focused on examples of black pseudohistory while ignoring widespread similar stuff from white people (lost cause myth, moundbuilder myth, Irish slave myth, Viking runes in Oklahoma, Atlantis bs, etc). There are some people who say “we wuz kangs” to intentionally be racist. I find it all very interesting in general though and talk about examples from many different groups of people.
