I’m not a betting man, but I’m expecting trump is gonna practically hand over Taiwan to China and call it a win.

Idk if this is really out of line with decades-long US policy. Biden was lowkey more vocal about Taiwanese independence than previous presidents so I can see why people think Trump’s being abnormal here

The US policy has always been “one China” with unofficial support for Taiwan, but Biden stood out because he said he’d arm Taiwan if China invaded, even though his own admin said they’d maintain ambiguity

Yeah I see what you mean. The tech execs that have his ear would absolutely go insane if they lost access to TSMC though. Intel would probably love if that happened on the other hand, but they don’t have the ability to replace TSMC rn
