Because ICE isn’t just going after “possible” Illegal aliens, they are going after politcial opponents. They came for the Communists before they came for you.

I mean I’m not surprised. They don’t have enough applicants so they’re literally diverting people from every other DHS agency. People who work in cybersecurity are now working on deportations 💀 they had to lower the standards to get more people in. They had to waive the sit-up requirement 🤣

Neither because how you plan on moving to a country illegally and not even taking the time to learn some English the nerve of these people. They can get the job done well without knowing Spanish too.

Then what of Brad Lander? What of the peaceful protestors who have been detained? What of the American citizens who have been deported for their skin color? I am no crazy because I call it as I see it and when they come to your door I will have no sympathy.

What if tomorrow your home was destroyed? Your government turns their back to you and you live in terror and poverty. So you leave your country to a land of opportunity, and when you arrive on shore, rather than being met with compassion and understanding. You are instead ridiculed for not being able to speak the local language. I’m sure you would feel very differently about immigration than if you were in their shoes.

Hey so you realize that there are legal citizens who speak Spanish? And that law enforcement not being able to do basic communication with people leads to really bad situations?

Would you say the same for Chinese illegals?

If a huge portion of people in the US spoke that language then yes

Its not their responsibility to learn everyones language. Its not illegal to not learn English i think its just extremely lazy and disrespectful to the country you should be assimilating to

But there is an influx of Chinese illegal immigrants. So why not learn Chinese too. What about Somalian or whatever they speak.

You do realize some countries speak multiple languages right? Many places in Europe, despite being mostly Germanic or Slavic etc. speak multiple languages and different dialects depending on region. Maybe it’s disrespectful to not make an attempt to learn the language of your neighbors. Many European schools require students learn up to three or more languages other than their own.

If you think learning a new language is so goddamn easy then why don’t you learn Spanish? The US doesn’t have an official language. Learn Spanish so you can speak both of our most common languages.

Correction: English was declared the official language in March 2025 by this racist ass administration. The same one detaining legal citizens and “deporting” them to black sites.

Maybe that’s what could happen. Some teachers already have learned multiple languages so they can help their classes. However this is a minority and as it stands is not a huge problem.

English is the easiest language for Spanish speakers to learn and vice versa. We all learned basic spanish in highschool. Immigrants all come in with iphones they can just download duo lingo for freee

That’s not the argument, we’re talking about a police force that’s sole purpose is to deport illegal immigrants. So a proper police agency of this manner would need its members to be able to speak multiple languages to be most efficient.

Bold of you to assume all immigrants have phones or access to the internet as well. Just because you have a phone doesn’t mean you have automatic 5g internet access or easy access to WiFi.

Look at the footage from 2020 of people lining up at the boarder no one was present literally everyone was on their phones

“Literally everyone” from one clip is not enough to make an accurate presumption. Give me a chart with actual and maybe I’d be convinced. Also, Duo lingo can be used offline but only for a short amount of time since it would be going off downloaded lessons. However, this really doesn’t have anything to do with the argument because ICE which deals specifically with immigration should be able to speak multiple common languages like Spanish, Mandarin, or any other high frequency language.

Let’s go at this a different way: ICE not being able to effectively communicate with people who don’t speak English means that papers they signed agreeing to certain things could be effectively rendered void. Lawsuits could result if ICE didn’t properly notify people of their rights in a language they understand
