
guys everyone here is missing the point. they’re not suffering bc they weren’t born in America. they’re suffering bc they came there illegally?? n this is coming from someone who was in the states legally. it really doesn’t seem like a difficult concept to grasp?? if you want to move, awesome! do it the right way. why are we surprised there are consequences for doing the wrong thing?
Side note I think a lot of this comes from people who have been hurt enough in life that they just gave up on having empathy for others, they just thought it was easier to put up a mental wall (‘they’re not good people so they deserve it, they broke the law so they deserve it’…etc) than to actually feel the pain of thinking about all the suffering. Which is why old heads who think like this like to cast their cynicism as wisdom
