I get that this daycare fraud is bad, but you have to understand that showing up to a daycare, camera in hand, and asking to be let in is objectively weird

If this happened to be someone on the left they would never let it go and would be vehemently pushing it everywhere as a “gotcha” moment

If there’s ongoing fraud at daycares, how else should journalists investigate it?

The best part is Nick Shirley made baseless claims about fraud that was investigated and prosecuted three years ago was still going on. His proof? Showing up to a daycare after hours with a camera stating that since there were no kids it must be a scam

Somehow showing up after hours is even weirder
I will say that misspelling “learning” is a red flag as far as daycares go (if they spell that wrong, then is it a good place to bring my kids?), but this is true regardless of who’s running it

It is objectively weird to show up to daycares (where there are kids) unannounced with cameras, asking to be let in for filming purposes
If they want to check that bad, they could maybe contact the daycares beforehand

We just established there weren’t any kids there. Whether it’s because it was outside of hours or for other reasons.
They also didn’t start by asking to be let in, they started with asking to enroll their child.
Third party auditors show up to companies unannounced for a reason.
