I like the French response to trump. It basically boils down to “try it. Go on, try something.”

Unfortunately I have a feeling Germany and anyone else dependent on natural gas will not feel the same way 😭

Nuclear is the future. it’s cleaner than gas, it’s more reliable than gas, but noooooo the communists are too stupid to boil water and now we can’t have it

This as well as saying that the EU should sanction the US, calling for the use of the "Anti-coercion instrument". Also, French nuclear doctrine maintains the use of nuclear armed cruise missiles as a "warning shot"

i like his response, its a reminder that the world has operated for like 80 years primarily on sovereignty and not "might makes right" which is a paradigm this administration wants to rid themselves of. i think nuclear weapons are really going to stay off the table, the primary weapon will be that of financing. europe (eu) is coordinated and could dump all the debt the us owes them and tank america. the fallout of that would be huge and would cripple america. maybe it would backfire

the issue with the financing option is the global effects, and the us is already hypermilitarized. if trump gets control over the fed, which he probably will in a few months, then he's gonna just print money straight to the military and now war is the only option to recover the economy i guess

That’s the only thing Trump actually seems to be scared of. The bond vigilantes. I hope they step up again like they did after those tariffs in April

The French held the line on the western front for 4 years, De Gaulle led 260,000 free French troops by the end of WW2, they sent 18,000 men in support of the gulf war, and they have the fourth largest nuclear arsenal in the world. I don’t think that’s true.

Except their freedom of expression laws somehow mean you can’t wear religious clothing in public. I still don’t understand that
