The iron dome prevents Israel from facing consequences for its own actions. If Israel does not have to worry about a country retaliating then it will continue to bomb countries across the Middle East

I agree that Israel has the money to do it themselves, but I think this is also worth doing because Israel reacts absurdly whenever civilians are harmed (ironically). By minimizing Israeli civilian casualties I think we temper them a bit. If it was up to me, I’d give everyone in that region an iron dome (around their major cities at the very least)

yeah that's the literal problem. we should not assuage them. in the same way that you don't give a child in tantrum what they're trying to get because it only encourages the behavior AND the tantrum. "but then they'll throw a bigger tantrum" ok so we should take their toys and put them in the fucking corner for a few decades to cool off, not give them more toys and a "tsk tsk"

"we temper them *a bit*" is crazy. no. they need to be STOPPED. period. the irony is that you'll save more lives down the line by letting them get struck so they learn the lesson that they are not invincible; that they can and will face lethal consequences for their violence
