I'm doubtful that you could explain why the ability to take away people's gun rights prior to any criminal conviction or court determination of mental deficiency is not a mechanism for the government to take away your rights without due process anyways

I just don't think that proper gun regulation includes banning weapons in common use for lawful purposes or denying people their rights without giving them a say in court.

I grew up with guns. I grew up with good teachers on proper gun safety from family, a brief stint in shooting sports, and Scouting. I think there is such a thing as responsible gun ownership practiced by most gun owners.

My pissy mood has to do with 2A absolutists not getting that, sometimes, and with demonstrable evidence, people should in fact lose their rights to gun ownership because they have a proven tendency to be a threat to themselves and others.

I don't think it's at all absolutist to follow the SCOTUS decision about what the 2A means, and 3d printers as a means of getting guns to your hypothetical ne'er do well has proven to be a very slim minority of crime guns in reality
