If a large bloc of countries sanctioned the US together, to the point that sanctioning back would just be suicide, then maybe that could work.

Sanctions + no travel visas seems most realistic

We don’t want war, no fly zone would be terrible for foreign business, no country would dare sanctions because it would effect the global economy, power grid sabotage would be hella illegal, so sadly nothing unless they get a really good plan that doesn’t effect their country

The US produces enough to sustain itself without trade (albeit with a noticeable drop in quality of life) so I'd think it'd have to be war or infiltration but even still, our economy is war based so you might end up strengthening it. Lengthened sanctioning plus warfare might work well in the same way siege warfare did back in the day, but even still is a risky bet considering we have a ton of nukes.

Nothing. With one Executive Action, the President can set enemy nations back to the Stone Age: prohibit American companies from operating in adversary countries. VISA credit cards would stop working. So would ATMs, which use American technology. Boeings and Airbuses both use American components. So no planes. No Nvidia chips. No iPhone (or Android).

Nothing. Because they’re too reliant on us and they know it.

I think realistically the best they could do is infiltration trying to fix our political systems from the inside

Sure we can nuke other countries, but isn’t the entire problem with that that other countries can nuke back? Plus clearly not every nation on earth requires the use of dollars and American ATMs etc. Iran clearly has resources and thus value with which to trade. The US is strong economically and militarily, but it isn’t god, it just has a strong system that gives it good leverage

Yes that’s true, but like you said, I’d say we have very good leverage. I’ll also point out almost every country needs USD. If we cut dollar SWAP lines, lots of countries would plunge into financial crisis.

Yeah I honestly think China is the biggest threat to US hegemony just due to their sheer production. But even then they just don’t have the global reserve currency or petrodollar

Petrodollar is being threatened by Iran tho currently, plus petrodollar won’t last forever

The Iran War has increased demand USD. Crisis tend to increase dollar demand
