Here’s how I think about general environmental regulations: Republicans are against them because they think it is a money sink. However, it is much easier to fix the economy than the environment. Entropy comes at a high cost that is worth paying.

It’s all short term. Temporary economic growth benefits them when they are in office and some of them don’t care about what happens after. Especially if you are near the end of your career or life.

Humans will never be able to control nature no matter how hard they try. Putting it out of balance is one of the worst things you can do.
