Law enforcement should be able to make the right call in that amount of time. They are charged with defending the public and if they cannot make the right call they shouldn’t be in law enforcement. And yes they should be held to a very high standard.

The rapid rise of fascism and collapse of our democracy?

Coming from the military, this is why we have TRAINING. The average person isn’t expected to be able to react to a situation like that quickly and with rational judgment, but a federal law enforcement officer is.

She was moving at 5 mph. He had no reason to even pull a firearm let alone detain her
5
Anonymous#118w
That's very unrealistic standards
-4
AnonymousOP18w
It's within belief the guy thinks she is trying to hit him and run
-3
AnonymousOP18w
for their line of work, no it isn’t.

Anonymousthefuckingfbi18w
Yes it is bro. Even if you don't think she hit him she barely misses him at the very best. (most reports say he was hit with the mirror) Acting in a split second to that most people would shoot including law enforcement.
-4
AnonymousOP18w
Then he should take the hit. He is a public servant. Also he should be smart enough to not stand infront of a running car.
14
AnonymousOP18w
ah yes, the logical decision when a vehicle MIGHT hit you: shoot the driver 3 times instead of getting out of the fucking way to better assess the situation.
5
Anonymousthefuckingfbi18w
The vehicle did in fact hit him and yes that's pretty logical

Anonymous#118w
He should take a hit.... uh huh
0
AnonymousOP18w
yeah it brushed him at best. he wasn’t run over, and he wasn’t injured. maybe if he hadn’t been so busy trying to pull his weapon it wouldn’t have even brushed him.
6
Anonymousthefuckingfbi18w
He moved She would have hit him man please
-2
AnonymousOP18w
Yes. His job is to put his life on the line for the public and if he can’t do that he isn’t suited for duty. He stood in front of the vehicle knowing full well what could happen.
16
AnonymousOP18w
she didn’t fuckin hit him?? all he had to do was take a step back, not mag dump a mother??
6
Anonymous#118w
are you actually dumb his job isn't to take a hit from a car because some dumb lib is protesting him doing his job
-3
Anonymous18w
Idk even know how can i explain this to you so it makes sense
-2
AnonymousOP18w
right so he should act as the judge jury and executioner and murder her instead right? that sounds perfectly logical instead of simply stepping out of the way. even if she had been obstructing, the penalty ISNT DEATH.
1
AnonymousOP18w
She wasn’t protesting, we have confirmation of that from her family and friends. Ironic you call her dumb when he’s standing infront of a running car.

Anonymous#118w
She was blocking the road from them leaving
1
AnonymousOP18w
The initial aggressor loses their right to the claim of self defense. Standing in front of that car and blocking it meets the criteria for being the instigator
5
AnonymousOP18w
She waved them past, several other ice vehicles had already passed her. For the crowd that loved to say do your research you hate doing research.
6
Anonymous#118w
She's being interrogated she can't flee bro what
0
Anonymous#118w
try waving off a police officer next time you get pulled over
0
Anonymous18w
i mean if you are federal agent sure
0
AnonymousOP18w
She let multiple ice vehicles pass before their douchebag stopped and got in her face. He instigated it with no grounds of suspicion
5
AnonymousOP18w
He walked away and then fled the scene.
It is not conceivable he believed she was trying to hit him and even if it was it was unacceptable.
5
AnonymousOP18w
Maybe he shouldn’t stand in front of cars on the street?
12
AnonymousOP18w
What reasonable, articulable suspicion caused them to interrogate her?
9
Anonymous#718w
She was clearly committing traffic violations. Before you say it, yes thats no reason to pull out a gun but let’s not get carried away and say there was no reason to detain her.
0
Anonymous#818w
They can’t conduct a stop for a traffic violation. 8 USC 1357
12
Anonymous#718w
They aren't
0
Anonymous#818w
Was she? What traffic violation and please let us know what information you used to reach that conclusion
6
AnonymousOP18w
They aren’t what?
1
Anonymous#718w
stopping her for a traffic violation
1
AnonymousOP18w
It was not a traffic violation, the agent who tried to grab in her car was directing her vehicle as he had with several others. He only attacked her
1
AnonymousOP18w
Ok, so what was the crime they have suspicion that she committed or was about to commit?
4
Anonymous#618w
I think the one who fired shots was different from the one who grabbed the driver’s side handle
