I don't even like Catholicism or think its the true church but US public schools molest more kids than Catholic churches worldwide

If the flaw really lies in the institution, then we ought to get rid of education pronto.

Where is this data? I don’t like the public schools for different reasons but I haven’t seen any reports (independent or institutional reports) or anything from independent or mainstream media corroborating this

A USDOE study found ~10% of students face educator sexual misconduct by grade 12 . With ~50 million students, that suggests millions of victims. This is higher than the Catholic Church's 1950-2002 total of 10,667 reported victims . Even accounting for underreporting, both the sheer scale in schools and the rate of abuse is significantly larger.

Sort for posting comments piecemeal. Also have to note the church has only *reported* such a figure. That doesn’t including unreported instances and instances before 1950 ofc. Also depends on if it was reported by the Vatican or the seat in a specific country.

Things like this come to mind. This was just one church in one city in the world and the Catholic Church is one of the biggest organizations in the world. This would suggest massive under-reporting even if we assume other churches have much lower rates.

Also would be curious of what the study you mentioned classifies as sexual abuse vs the church bc that would affect scope massively
