Fuck this administration. They’re really going to consider my degree “non-professional..” just to cut loans I need otherwise I can’t pay for school… absolute BULLSHIT

DoE just said a ton of degrees are no longer professional. I’m just starting my master’s degree in OT and they listed it. Basically this cuts student loan funds and limits students to only $20k a YEAR. 20k for most programs on that list only covers maybe one semester. It’s ridiculous

They also listed PA, PT, SLP, audiology, MSW, Dr of Public health etc

it’ll force universities to stop charging a bajillion dollars for graduate programs if they aren’t going to be getting federal money willy nilly. already seeing law schools starting to cave

They’re not going to do that. Honestly if people want to borrow willy nilly they are responsible for that like any bank loan. The government should not but cutting access to people, especially woman-dominant fields.

no. it’s just that now everyone in those fields will have to get private student loans instead. which are worse than federal loans for borrowers and usually have much higher interest rates

Yes.. they’re cutting out GRAD Plus loans. Thats what I meant
