Depending on how op answers, you should then ask them if they hold other countries to the same standard as Israel, meaning that they spend as much time criticizing said country online as they do Israel.

You should also ask them if they bring up a conflict between two countries on a post that has nothing to do with the conflict. You should also ask them if they also boycott products from other countries that are doing bad things as much as they boycott Israeli products. Finally, you should ask them if they would criticize a celebrity for giving birth at a hospital founded by a citizen of that country (it wasn’t even an Israeli hospital, it was a Jewish hospital that serves the entire community)

Congratulations you hate the government, you can join the huge number of Israelis who voice their concerns, oppositions and political voice freely. Welcome to a nation with democratic principles. Do you see the same thing happening in the Palestinian territory? When’s the last time either Gaza or the WB held an election? What is the % of support that Hamas has in either territory?

and I would also ask to the people who want Israel to magically cease existence (expected of no other country), what would the difference be between the structure of Israel’s current gov and this magical hypothetical one. If they want to replace it with a “Palestinian state,” they will get an actual ethnostate governed by religious law, which would immediately hunt down and persecute all the lgbtq, jews, druze, and other groups that take refuge in Israel.

correct me if I’m wrong, but I haven’t seen anyone in this post praise the active government presiding over Palestine. this just seems like a weird ass strawman argument to avoid discussion of an ongoing genocide. obviously there are antisemites who hide behind the guise of “combatting antisemitism”, and it’s important to discuss that vital issue, but it’s also important to recognize the ongoing genocide.
