Meanwhile neither side actually even has to do the bare minimum of representing their constituents values because they are one of two viable options

So it ends up being a system good ideas getting virtue signaled from both ends during campaign season to gather votes as some type of currency while bad ideas are pushed through into law without any constituent consent during the actual legislative term
