
Unwinding the us military and protesting kinetic action to keep valuable global trade routes open is directly counter to maintaining US dollar supremacy. We could whip the shit outta Iran if we really wanted to but the American public can’t stomach what it would take politically. It’s the same gamble sadaam made in both of the gulf wars. He figured he didn’t need to win he just needed to kill a couple thousand American troops and the us public would cower. It didn’t work but the logic holds.
His whole strategy was literally to draw America into “the mother of all battles” and make it bloody enough for the American people to lose resolve. Only reason we saw it thru the second time is we were still riding a wave of post 9/11 nationalism so our acceptable casualty rate was higher.
