so we're just going to keep pretending that there isn't historical data proving that gun bans at least slightly work?? gun massacres of 6 or more decreased by 37% following 1994 fed assault weapons ban, but went up 183% during the years after expiration.

Waiting for the guy that worships guns to arrive and pretend that he would resist a tyrannical government and that’s why we should do nothing about kids dying constantly

You know how you guys say that “even if abortion is to become illegal, we’ll find a way to get abortions” This can be applied to gun laws too BTW. It doesn’t matter if you have gun laws, CRIMINALS will find a way to get them. It’s been proven time and time again.

Ok ok ok ok ok. I agree that the gun ban led to decreased gun violence/massacres, but a full on ban is bad for the fact that we can’t trust the government. We have a right to form a militia in case the government becomes incredibly corrupt. It’s just the fact that we need stricter gun control. The ATF does not have its priorities straight and all of its systems and laws are wack. They don’t ban what they should, and they do ban stuff that doesn’t need to be banned.

Look at the correlation in the US between crime and gun control. Find one study that doesn’t show it either makes crime worse or has no effect, even if you control for demographics.

There’s a way better way to deal with this too, you need to deal with the underlying cause of why there is so much gun violence. Is it mental health? Is it financial difficulties? You can’t just get rid of guns because that violence will get transferred to knives and whatnot

i'm not advocating to get rid of guns. it's obvious that sweeping bans will not work in this country, but making them much more inaccessible clearly has positive effects

Are you illiterate? I said crime. Gun massacres are a tiny cherry-picked statistic in the much larger and more important category of crime, which gun control increases (violent crime also).

CRIMINALS SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO LEGALLY BUY A GUN! OR TAKE IT OUT OF THEIR DADS GUN LOCKER

well because i'm discussing gun control related to mass shootings, one could infer that i was specifically talking about mass shootings NOT crime in general. the magic of reading comprehension! but sure let's talk gun control and supposedly causing more crime... an assertion that i cannot find one reputable source repeating, besides the of course the NRA... but obviously they'd take up that stance
