i shouldve clarified, i mean how widespread its become and how its not really being covered by local media. which we cant trust, i know. but every other day theres city hall meetings where people are yelling disapproval, presenting arguments and the representatives dont care! and they’re putting them EVERYWHERE. its coast to coast. and ive yet to hear a good reason why. its a problem that will literally RAISE the temperature when half the country is in a drought. no one is mad enough for me man
like if we need this many, either they’re not data centers, or they’re not the super computer extraordinaires they’re marketing them as. something cant be true there. they are either necessary for the future and highly efficient, or there needs to be hundreds of them to work properly. it cannot be both.
i think so too. bc they all have the same chatgpt defenses when pressed about it. the constituents are saying NO because they are loud, they are expensive, they are damaging as hell to the natural environment, and again, i have YET to hear of a good use case for them that doesn’t involve making people money. its unfathomable. i just hope all these states and cities learn from this and vote those fuckers out. bc they clearly aren’t listening.
