She’s running in the democratic primary, trying to use social media as her main platform as opposed to getting large ad campaigns funded by wealthy donors. This is just a publicity thing, ts happens in literally every election in the country. Not that it’s good, but trying to use it as a rallying cry is a bit disingenuous

The article is linked, but Kat Abughazaleh is a progressive candidate for IL-9. I think there are legitimate concerns about her lack of political experience, but I think having experience as a journalist helps. There are posts about her supporting Marco Rubio for president when she was 16 and they seemed to pop up out of nowhere, but were immediately picked up by prominent Twitter accounts in a way that seems coordinated
