The point of bringing people into the world is that hopefully if you raise them right they will create a better world

All that's here is suffering. Even love and kindness only offer brief refuge from perpetual pain and misery. All those brought into this world are destined to suffer while they are fed the futile lie that everyone can pursue life, liberty, and happiness.

Anti-natalism is valid asf, having a child is selfish esp considering the amount of children that need adoptive parents

Why?

“I’ll bring a child into suffering and further punish the planet because MAYBE there’s a small chance things get better”

So you’re choosing to bring someone into life without their consent into a painful world bc “they could make it better”?

I thought that they were just a clump of cells inside the woman's body?

Anonymous#11w
they are at first yes, but when they’re born they’re a person, I’m assuming we’re not talking abortion here
Before birth imo you can do whatever tf you want, it’s the woman’s body, you can always try to conceive again, it takes decades to replace grown women

So why do I need to get the consent from a clump of cells for them to exist?
1
Anonymous#11w
bc if you carry the fetus to term it becomes a person, and people have basic innate rights

Did your parents talk to you in the womb and ask you for your consent?
1
Anonymous#11w
nope, it’s not realistically feasible, fetuses and even newborns can’t communicate
I think the stronger argument is that there’s thousands if not millions of children globally that need adoptive parents, if you need a child, why not get one that already exists and needs parents?

I don't want someone else's child either, part of the reason is that I'm doing it to extend my bloodline
1
Anonymous#11w
why wouldn’t an adoptive child extend your family line? they share your last name, you raise them, is there any reasonable difference if they’re related to you or not?
0
Anonymous#31w
I said bloodline not family line
1
Anonymous#11w
why is bloodline important to you? and also, how do you know your bloodline doesn’t have adoptions within it?

I haven't donated to that many sperm banks yet plus I don't think I would be allowed to raise them anyways
