The contacts between some Zionists and Nazi Germany are well documented but often misrepresented. The Haavara Agreement enabled some German Jews to emigrate to Mandatory Palestine by transferring assets through the purchase of German goods. Its purpose was to save Jewish lives, not to form an alliance, and it ended when World War II began.

Based on his bio in the Journal of Palestine Studies, Klaus Polkehn was a self-described journalist from Communist East Germany. I say self-described because there was obviously no free press in East Germany, so this doesn’t appear to be a credible source.

Nazi ideology remained fundamentally anti Zionist. Hitler repeatedly condemned Zionism and opposed a Jewish state. In 1941, he told Haj Amin al Husseini that after dealing with the "Jewish problem" in Europe, Germany would do the same elsewhere. After the war, some former Nazis joined Arab forces fighting against the creation of Israel.
