Let’s not forget that adultery is haram too And so is gambling And so is alcohol It’s almost as if some of the largest parts of the economy suddenly become useless

There’s no maps that conveniently include MENA along with Europe but a lot of Muslim majority countries actually seem to have a higher age of consent

Why would that even matter, they’re diddling kids and eating babies here anyway and NOBODY is getting punished for it. At least in Iran (according to Google and Wikipedia) the punishment for rape and child molestation is death. Here they get out on good behavior and get placed in minimum security prison if they’re ever even prosecuted

There currently isn’t any punishment for adults marrying children, its a very common practice there

I think, the more a society develops and the higher the life expectancy goes, the lower the child marriage rate ends up being
