Ngl I don't think it'll beat out cars, I can afford to fly most places when traveling across the country and choose to drive

Eh it’s tough, people have seen how over-budget every American hsr project has gone and like 1 says there’s the issue of making it appealing. The reason most people wouldn’t choose hsr for a long journey in the us is because they likely need a car to get around once they get to the city they’re traveling to, making the whole thing a headache. We need effective LRT/bus transit to complement hsr if we want it to work. Which sucks because it’ll take investments this gov definitely wouldn’t support
