Technically Venezuela (even though we sent in special forces guys so there were boots on the ground) The more pressing question is, since Iran isn’t immediately surrendering like Trump (foolishly) hoped, will he back off or double down?

I mean the USA has facilitated many coups without involving its own soldiers in the process. South Vietnam in 1963, Iran in 1953, Chile in 1973.

If you can stretch the definition of regime change to include replacing a dictator with his 2IC I guess

Venezuela’s regime change was barely a regime change, we just put Maduro’s next up in charge and took control of oil shipments, nothing changed for the Venezuelan people

Hmm true. I guess my question was more about ones we carried out by ourselves. Unless we plan to arm Iranian rebels too

arming rebels in the Middle East goes great, remember when we armed rebels in Afghanistan? They later flew planes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon!

Exactly, which is why I’m not keen on doing that lol

Didn’t go too great in Syria either. ISIS ended up with some of those weapons
