It’s because they don’t actually care about whether someone comes illegally or not. They don’t want immigration at all, and use the “illegal” bs as a thinly-veiled justification for their xenophobia.

i think, systematically, the corporations see undocumented workers as cheaper labor, akin to the prison industrial complex
