Okay - I haven’t looked into this yet, but from what I remember: human cases on their own aren’t the most concerning, it’s human-to-human transmission as opposed to avian-to-human transmission where shit gets really bad

Yep - first human case of H5N5, no human to human transmission reported. Don’t panic yet.

yeah, I’m hoping this is just a one-off, it’s not contagious in humans, and avian-to-human transmission doesn’t become common Can’t say it doesn’t freak me out a bit though

and since the guy had birds it’s pretty likely he got it from a bird and not a human
