Wouldn’t be a terrible idea but sometimes I wonder how tf other countries manage to have people who are barely trained work as essentially EMTs

Few years of any type of civil service in exchange for complete loan forgiveness would be an insanely based idea that would improve society and economic crisis but our government is scared of cool stuff like that

You needed community service. I got mine done through marching band

It could be things like working at old folks home or helping school teachers. I know in Austria they require 2 years of this kind of thing or military service

Yeah, Germany as well (until like 10 years ago I think?) although I remember someone I work with saying they had to carry someone down a ton of stairs on a stretcher, so I assumed they were involved in some sort of paramedic-type situation
