…she’s both. That’s what being mixed means. And JD Vance is perhaps the most opportunistic politician I can think of.

As someone who is also mixed it always confused me why people act like you can’t be two races at the same time. You identify with both. I don’t need to say “I am also race X” whenever I say “I am race Y”. And yeah she can say “I am black” or “I am Indian” whenever. Because she literally is both. It isn’t opportunistic that’s jus how being mixed works

You can have multiple aspects of your identity that can be relevant in different situations. I identify as bisexual and as a man. In one social or conversational situation my bisexuality is relevant, in another it may be my identity as a man, in another it could be something completely different like my identity as a Virginian or as an Irish-American. But identifying as bisexual doesn’t mean I’m not also a man or a Virginian or an Irish-American.

So when Kamala is running or existing in a very black community, her blackness will be most relevant. That doesn’t mean she wasn’t identifying as Indian. It just wasn’t an identity that was important to present in that situation.

I am Asian and brown. When referring to myself I will sometimes describe myself as Asian or brown. It’s just how being mixed is bro. I don’t even like Kamala but this line of attack is just stupid
