Cop cars with dark gray decals should be illegal. It’s absolute bullshit that you can’t tell it’s a cop car until it’s close to you. Any cop car should have to be clearly marked from a distance

Why do they need to be clearly marked from a distance?

So that if you were accidentally doing something illegal you can self correct real quick

Speeding is dangerous, why would I be in favor of encouraging that?

You are being purposely obtuse by framing the problem as whether or not one should encourage speeding, I’m not going to engage with that.

#1 is why there’s 14 flock cameras on every street

"Cop cars need to be visible so that if/when im speeding I know when to slow down" Is that not your argument?

Nah fuck flock, also they dont factor speed so where is the correlation?

Speeding is only dangerous if you lack awareness and don’t know how to control a vehicle

Not even true btw

Benn Jordan, and independent YouTube researcher, easily hacked a flock camera and found it tracks everything from driver appearance, car door dents, and even vehicle speed. They’ve recently added microphones

Yeah they take in too much information and they're everywhere, de-flock is great for reporting + seeing where they are. If they do track speed then that's another reason they suck

A hidden cop is the same at a flock camera tbh

That’s not true whatsoever, a flock camera can’t even issue a citation

You have a right when it comes to stops and seizures, you dont when it comes to looking at cop cars. What point are you even making

Would you see a difference between a unidentifiable cop car vs clearly marked parked around a corner with a speed gun

upvote -1 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> #1 23h

Probably. People tend to speed a little bit by default. If anything it is safer if someone sees a cop car and proceeds to slow down. You are arguing that they should blow right past the cop and continue endangering themselves and others for the sake of getting caught?

But the cop car around the corner isn't immediately visible, isn't that your whole issue? Im saying it's dangerous and selfish to be speeding, if getting a ticket or two is what it takes for someone to realize that, skill issue ig idk

If it is cops job to keep people safe by lowering speeds (it’s not they’re just poor people bullies) would it not make more sense to have a clearly marked vehicle that makes passing cars slow down instead of in unmarked vehicle which does nothing

In your eyes someone will be speeding, see a cop car, slow down and then for the rest of the drive cease to speed? Im not sure that's reality broski

I don’t understand your point, are you just ideologically in favor of undercover police silently monitoring people, waiting to give them tickets and arrests?

If the stop itself is legal in nature, I do not see a problem with police vehicles that are not immediately recognizable. If the stop is illegal then I would be against it no matter the visibility of said police vehicle

If the vehicle had been clearly marked, then the drivers that slowed down when they saw it may have been saved from dying or killing someone in a crash, but you think busting people is more important

Something like 40,000 people die in traffic accidents a year, and being that driving is a privilege and not a right I don't see a problem with tickets and/or restrictions for those that demonstrate they cannot safely operate a vehicle on the road

They would have slowed down to pass the cop and then most likely sped back up

Along the same line, I dont see a problem with cops that wait outside of bars and catch people driving drunk
