Arab conquest is extremely different from modern settler colonialism. Local populations were not replaced, they were culturally Arabized. Genetics show that Palestinians are primarily just local Jewish, Samaritan, Canaanite, and Nabatean populations who adopted Arabic culture. It’s like how the Irish adopted Christianity and English, but they’re still the local people.

Gaza is not the same as other Islamic nations, Christians and people of jewish faith lived there in peace, they had the worlds oldest churches and bloodlines of Christ’s first followers. That doesn’t mean that they deserve what’s happening to them right now.

way to efface the difference between the repeated colonizations. suzerainty, and administration of the now-occupied palestinian territory. if “everywhere is colonized”, then why do we assert that there is a meaningful difference in the racialized settler colonial formation that happened in the americas, new zealand, australia, canada?

ok but aside from palestine, what about lebanon? the genocide israel is doing there? arabs colonized that too by ur logic. so when israel succeeds in its goals to settler colonize large swaths of Lebanon because “Hzb” it will be justified because countless of powers once ruled Lebanon. aramaic is still spoken throughout the levant. the lingua franca became arabic because of the administrations of the caliphates. aramaic is still spoken in christian communities just moreso in a liturgical sense. anyways u focus on learning the colloquial shami dialect (mutually intelligible with fusha 3arabi) because you’re being killed.

also we could go on and on about this. what’s interesting is that the Nashashibis and Hosseinis betrayed the Palestinian 1936 Revolution and sided with the British and Jewish Paramilitary Terrorists like the triad that formed the IDF. They enjoyed the Ottoman rule that Palestinians were agitating against!! And to preserve their assets they sided with Zionists and British. They were indigenous, yet still betrayed Palestine. They were still displaced in the Nakba even though they shilled out.

-non-secular factions like Hamas which were funded in bad faith pretexts as counterweights in a proxy war between the PLO (Fatah & PFLP) and Hamas (islamist) and then destroyed a lot of civilian infrastructure. And I’m not excusing Arab conquest and administration. Minority religions were allowed to exist so long as they were people of the book (which is way better than in Europe), but they were still marginalized, which influenced the population shift towards Islam. And the Samaritans went through several periods of severe persecution when local rulers declared they weren’t “people of the book” (though the massacres under the Byzantines were larger scale)

But also, even if it was settler colonialism just like the modern form, would that matter today? How someone’s ancestors got somewhere 1300 years ago doesn’t mean it’s ok to kick them out of their homes or raze their neighborhoods. I’m sure you wouldn’t be ok with the USA getting settler colonized. New injustices are not justified by the extended past.
